I spent 10 days in Israel in December 2022, and it was surreal to set foot on some of the most sacred places in the world. There's something about experiencing PLACES, with their senses, textures, and people, that bring stories to life. I was drawn to the idea of Israel being a liminal place that holds the tension of our world's current brokenness and the hope of a Heaven to come.
The art in progress is set to be a 12-piece acrylic collection based on Ein Gedi, Galilee, Jerusalem, and Shiloh. I use deep jewel tones and spreads of metallic (especially gold) to capture a sense of elevated, sacred wonder. Subjects will include botanicals, architecture, and abstract symbolism.
